For my major project, I am going to create a website for a fictional small business. I work for a small business that creates custom-etched and hand-painted wine bottles. We have never had a functioning or well-designed website and it has always been a point of contention for me. I have been with this company for nearly 9 years, so I know a fair amount about what would be important to include. I have thought a lot about what I would like to see in terms of a strong site for my company and I think it would be fun to try my hand at creating what I have envisioned.
The most important components will be an explanation of the process and uncluttered gallery pages. I am going to try my hand at some animations for the home page, showing a wine bottle going from idea to etched, to painted. The contact page is also very important, and I plan to make a page with several options for ordering to clarify the process. To do this I plan to make a submission page with clickable options for wine bottle size, design on hand or needed, custom text, etc.
I plan to create:
- a home page with a navigation bar, a photo of some of our wine bottles, and a short blurb.
- An about us page detailing the company story
- A process page with details on the etching and painting process, coupled with visuals.
- A gallery page showcasing corporate work
- A gallery page showcasing winery work
- A gallery page showcasing personal wine bottle work
- Testimonials page
- FAQ
- A contact page
